I'm looking at getting a new carb for my engine swap. Here are some basics about the motor.

5.0 Roller Motor
Bored to 306
Stock cam
Stock heads (w/ 1.6 roller rockers)
Old Weiand Colt 500 Intake
Hooker Competition Headers

I'm looking at Edelbrocks and Holleys, nothing over 600 CFM I reckon. I'd like an electric choke after driving for 3-4 years with a manual. So Edelbrock Performers? Holley Street Avengers? Other suggestions?

Thanks.

After some reading around here and other places I think I'm going for a Holley Street Avenger 570...That said I've found a 670 for pretty cheap, how would that fit my application?

Oh yea and sorry for blowing up the forums with all these threads lately

The 570 is a perfect choice. The 670 will work too, just will have a bit less bottom end throttle response.

I have a holley 650 hp and it is an excellent carb. no choke on this model and it starts up with no problems. I would recommend this carb to everyone!

I went with a Holley 600, I think it will work pretty well. Thanks for the tips.
