alright guys i'll get right to it, my 5.0's exhaust is a piece, its all rusted out etc etc, a shop quoted me 300 for catback flows (40 series) dumped, does that sound about right? i went to some semi rice shop a ways down the street and the lady was trying to bs me, sayin (because i asked how much headers would be) she's like well we can get the headers but they're gonna cost like 400 plus flowmasters are 130 a piece so yeah back on topic, 300 catback flowmasters dumped, is it a good deal?

i figure u can get them cheaper than that. summit racing sells the american thunder cat back kit (flowmaster) for $227. does $300 include installation? you can install that stuff yourself, its just a few bolts and u are done.

40 series flowmasters are 59.95 each...

I got my setup (40's dumped) 60.00 each muffler and 75.00 to have them welded on to pipes and dumped by local shop

under 200.00

tell you what, FM's 120.00 pair, inlet Pipes 40.00 from Laurel Mt. Mustang, and maybe 30.00 to have the shop tack weld the muff's to the hangers... 190.00

or... MAC kit with chrome tails for 264.00

300.00 is a RIP

yeah the 300 includes instillation, but when i mean my exhaust is crap right now, like it is, it sounds like a little hampster is running around in there at idle, the cats are completely rusted its all rust, i hope this will give me that sotp feeling, i mean i have my 3.73's but i have no money to install them (i have convinced my parents to pay majority of exhaust) but i know they wouldnt pay for the gear install/posi rebuild, so u think i should try to talk them down from 300? anywho thanks in advance for any responses

$300.oo is a huge rip off I live near El Monte CA. There is A shop in the area not to far from you called Mike's Mufflers. The address is 12222 Garvey ave. phone number is (626)443-5139. Give him A call for a price. He's done just about all the work on my car including a custom h-pipe after I got my long tube headers, and most of my friends cars. I know for a fact he gets shippments from flowmaster just about everyday and should have some 40's in stock (if not he can get them in 24 hours). If all you need is the mufflers it shouldn't be to much. But if you need them I also know he has catco cats in house. And unlike a lot of shop now a days in CALI he will instill what ever you want cats or no cats no matter.

i would get a mid pipe (h or x) from www.pypesexhaust.com

they sell removeable cat X pipes for $229. they give u the straight pipe to install for the cat so you can swap back and forth.

Is anyone running one of these pypes catted x-pipes? For $229, I think it is worth trying. I am on a buget right now, and sprung a leak in one of my cats...

Shop around MORE.. a good 2 1/2 with a H pipe and flows over the rear is only 210.00 here, dump in front of the rear axle... and it is 185.00 Call a few more shops... Why spend 300.00 or 450 on exhaust when there are about a bazillion good shops out there that can custom a complete system??

Just me.................................
