Im in the process of getting the motor and tranny pieced together to go into my 82 coupe. The motor is a 9.0-1 347, w. Alum Edelbrock Performer heads, E-303 cam, Perf rpm intake, not sure on the carb yet but prolly a 650-750 holley D/P. The AOD was recently rebuilt w/ a shift kit. It has an 8.8 rear w/ 3.73's. It will be on Et.street slicks or Et.street radials.

Now.. I dont know a whole lot about autos. But I want a stall converter that will work good with this motor (launch hard). I dont know if I need a lock-up or non-lock up style. What are the advantanges of either style? Also about how much rpm of a stall should I go with? Streetability isint a real big issue but it will be street driven occasionally.

Thanks in advance.

I've got one of Andre's 9 1/2" lockup converters in my car. It's a good piece and when you tell him what your setup is and what stall you want He'll build it to suit.....none of that "oh we got one on the shelf that'll work great" crap. I asked for 3800 and on the trans brake that's exactly what I get. Mike
