alright, gents, my t5 is worse than ever. at idle you can hear pieces of metal being gargled around :notnice: , and it's even worse when driving in gear (1, 2, and 3).

i'm going with a d&d kit, but i don't know which i should go for. i could get the basic rebuild kit (synros, rings, and bearings -- $200) or for another hundred or two, i can get other *stuff (which i don't know exactly what is).

one thing to consider is that i'm putting in the new engine (gt40p heads/intake, crane cams, and a 125shot of juice) and am anticipating between 270-300rwhp and about 280-330rwtq. unfortunately spending more than 500 for this stuff isn't an option right now, so buying a tremec or even an astro kit upwards of 500 is not a possibility now. (i need to get this fixed, though, as my car will also be my dd for now).

i'd appreciate some advice on which kit to get from the following:

thanks! :nice:

just get the $209 kit.

the other one you still have to buy an output shaft. you even have to get a bunch of other stuff due to the 2.95 1st gear---that only comes in fox body lengths so you have to get a all that crap too.

Little thing I found out while researching the G-force/astro route I will go when my t5 goes.

NO late model mustang with a t5 ever came with a 2.9 first gear...ever fox or otherwise.

The 2.9 first on a motor that makes the power its rated for (in the link) seems to really dog out those combos too.

The rebuild kit side should have all the latest updates to the kit.
