help me understand different rockers and what i need.

can i use stock pushrods with roller rockers. aren't the roller pushrods hardened already. i know nothing about the different types of rockers can somebody explain the difference in rail type and non rail type rockers. what are the stock rockers found on e7 heads. i need somebody to tell me what i need to get in order to use a set of edelbrock performer 5.0 that use pedestal mount rockers. isn't that the stock rockers that just bolt to 17 ft lbs. if so what are a set of budget roller rockers that just bolt to these heads.do i need guideplates, hardened pushrod?. i know nothing about the valve system except what is stock and what they do.
