Help me with my times, please

Ok, so this was my first time at the track and I only had time to get 1 run in but I'm going back next month and wanted some ideas about what to improve on and how to do it. Here's the slip:

R/T .114
60' 2.156
330 6.066
1/8 9.298
MPH 76.62
1000 12.084
1/4 14.437
MPH 96.26

This was on street tires(all seasons) and launching at about 1500 with some wheel spin. Does the 1/4 time match with the MPH? Is that 60' time ok? Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated. I'd love to get it into the low 14's before it goes away for the winter. Thanks in advance.

those looke like pretty good times. the 60 ft times look pretty good too. I am not good at analysing the times but it looks like you got some good traction with a 2.15 and 96.26 trap, especially with 3.73's and timing at 16. Maybe you should get some slicks and try launchin it at a higher rpm next time. There are a lot of people here who could give you better advice, but that is all the help I can give you except for the obvious. Good Luck

except for trannys and gears we have amost the same mods.I went last night and went from a 2.0 to a 1.9 60ft. It gave me 2 tenths=14.1 @ 95mph. Your doing really good if your on street tires!! Dude get some DR's and your gonna see some nice times!! 2.1 is pretty good for street tires!!

Looks pretty good, the ET and trap speed are matched fairly well. Click on my time slip, our numbers are pretty close. Mine was on street tires too, but stock motor.

You could probably drop a tenth or two and drop the 60' by using the clutch and throttle together off the line to control the spinning.

I also have a 14.376 time slip that I clocked 98.632 mph with a 2.28 60' which is a little closer to yours for comparison.

Tomorrow I'm running with the drag radials, 13's here I come.

Thanks for the posts guys. Al least, it's nice to know I'm in the ball park. I don't have any way of gettin' drag radials right now, I kinda want to see what I can do in street trim first. It is a vert so it has the extra weight. I have about 50-75lbs. of sterio equipment in the trunk that I'm going to take out for the next trip. Not sure if that will help or hurt because the weight is all behind the rear wheels...we'll see.

Where should I be shifting? Do any of you guys know if the change to 3.73 gears also causes the tachometer to be out of wack like the speedometer? I know it isn't supposed to be that accurate to begin with. Thanks again for the help.

RPM's,are RPM's, are RPM's!!!Nah,,your tach is fine,just your speedo.About DR's,,,Nittos are better then my Sumutomos in the street,,dry and wet.There a 140 a piece.And when heated,hook awsome.

less weight is better than more weigh, even if it's in the rear. You can always adjust how you launch. I don't even have a rear bumper, the rear of my car is very light. The new suspension is helping quite a bit too.

Most folks say each 100# is equal to about a tenth in the 1/4 mile.

The gears won't throw off the tach any more than it already is. I was shifting around 5k according to my stock tack. A good tach w/ a shift light would be nice.

Pretty good times, especially for your first time to the track.

You won't be able to improve very much (if at all) on regular street tires. If you want to get more serious, get some drag radials or ET streets.
