HELP' NEED ADVISE FOR DAMAGED SUB-FRAME

I want to install some sub-frame connectors but the frame that they weld to is damaged. What can i do to get the sfc installed? It looks like a previous owner tried to jack the car up and crunched the frame. I asked a local shop for advise and the guy said to fill the space IN with some round rod or small plates and weld it all up. does this sound right to anyone or is there a better solution? Here are some pics. (ignore the exhoust it's not the correct one and that wire is the speedo cable)

Thanks in advance

On a good note, that looks quite fixable. If you have the ability to get the car jacked up high enough, a small slide hammer that uses sheet metal screws should be able to pull the rails back into their proper shape. You'd just need to drill a bunch of holes and have them welded shut when you finished, but it shouldn't hurt the car at all. After that, proceed with the installation as regularly scheduled. :nice:
