Help on Choosing new intake

I am building a 347 stroker with AFR 185 heads.
AFR suggests "RPM Performer, Vic Jr.".
I presume that means either the RPM Performer or the Victor Jr. as I didnt see anything with the combined name on Edelbrock site.

Edelbrock lists these:
Performer RPM 302 (1500-6500 RPM)
RPM Air-Gap 302 (1500-6500 rpm)
Torker II 302 (2500-6500 RPM)
Victor Jr. 302 (3500-8000 RPM)

Since this is just a good-times car for around town, I was thinking either the performer or ... I really want the air-gap. I see the vic. jr. as just being to high rpm range for city driving.

So, what do you think, and if you agree with the air-gap, will it fit under the hood on my stock 66 mustang?
 
I purchased a 331 stroker from Keith Craft. They include a Vic Jr. with the engine I chose. I had them substitute an Air Gap instead of the Vic. I also had the cam changed to a less radical one than they supply. My engine has the AFR185 heads, and I am using a Speed Demon 650 vac secondary carb. Keith Craft sells the unit as delivering 450 HP, with the changes I asked for my engine on their dyno ran 410Hp at 4800 RPM and 430 # torque at 4100 RPM. Despite the drop in HP I am still happy with the output of my engine. I have a C4 trans and power brakes so having adequate manifold vacuum was kind of important.

By the way the Air Gap is no high than the Perform RPM unit. My only comment with this manifold is it seems the water outlet has been relocated slightly. I had great difficulty getting the lower bolt in place, I used a chrome outlet and the supplied bolt would not fit between the timing cover and the outlet. I had to cut it shorter by 1/4 inch in order to fit it between, a real PIA to tighten as well.
 
Just my opinion:
The RPM is overrated for the SBF.
I used a Torker 289 on a 306 before and after a short swap to an RPM, the Torker blew that intake away.
Your engine will have even more cubes and torque, I can't imagine using an RPM on that engine. I wouldn't anyway.
Either Victor or a mild single plane... don't bother with dual plane on an SBF.

BTW: I am comparing to a Torker 289, NOT a Torker 2 (aka Torker 302). They are completely different animals.
 
I want to clarify:

Victor: Higher rpms, some strip, a little low on street manners.

Mild single plane: Street manners, more useable torque, a little less off top... But are you really going there with a 347 anyway?

I don't really understand intakes, thus the question.
Ratio you said mild single plane for street, what is a mild single plane?
I currently have a performer 289 intake from my old 289. Would it work just as well for street use on the 347 and save me 200$ ?
 
What cam are you going to use? Velocity is what you worry about. A runner sized for a 302 will have much greater velocity on a motor 45ci bigger. I've not heard anybody with 347s complain the the Vic jr kills the torque. My brother has one and it does great. Maybe someone else that has driven a car with a 347 and vic jr will chime in.
 
What are your rear end and first geat ratios? And what are your cam specs? The idea is to keep the engine in its power band. The RPM, with decent gears is great for street. The Jr. is better on the track for higher RPM bands. I am really happy with my RPM on my streeter. The Jr. has poor street manners in my opinion. Subjective, I realize, but that is my opinion.
 
I am running a 347 in my 65'..... I am also running a Victor jr. manifold... Absolutly no problems... Car is very streetable... Personally I think the 185's are a little small for a 347... I am very happy with my 205's... I am running a very agressive Ed Curtis Custom Rollor camshaft and the vehicle is totally streetable... I cruised Woodward Dreamcruise with no problems at all.. Very drivable and streetable....

You have to remember those 45 extra cubes are going to suck up some of the motor... So a totally radical set up on a 302 will be tame on a 347.....

But to give you a realistic answer we need to know more info on the vehicle.... Camshaft specs, rear end gear, convertor, carb, e.t.c.....
