wew rented a harmonic balancer puller, but its ****ing hard as ****. is that normal? or is there any how to for the removal. were trying to get to the cam

I don't remember having a problem with the harmonic balancer. It should just come off.

did you get the power steering pump off?

Mine wasnt that hard to pull, but I did have to apply some force.

did you remove the crank bolt and washer before installing the tool?

what are you using? a breaker bar or impact gun?

sometimes when you have the puller installed, give the tool a few smacks with a hammer on the center bolt and try again

Dan's thoughts were like mine - I wondered if the washer was still in there. A stock balancer shouldnt be too stuck in there..............

the washer was in there, we took it out the washer and it poped of easy.

lol.

i used to do that sometimes when i worked at a engine machine shop. the motors would come in so filthy and dirty, you couldnt tell the washer was still in there.

At least you didnt break the puller - that's happened before when the washer causes a bind.

Good luck with the rest of the haul.
