HELP "POWER WINDOW CRISIS"

I own a 2002 mustang v6 3.8 automatic.

Today was like anyother day I went to work and at the end of the day I went home and when i pulled in i realized that my driverside window wouldnt go up. All the other windows in the car went up and down and worked fine, however my driverside wouldnt do anything- it was like it was dead- you could'nt hear the mechnisim or the window motor. The only thing you can hear is a clicking noise coming from under the dash below the steering wheel whenever you pressed on the driverside window button.

Please can any help me??

have you pulled the door panel off and looked sounds to me u got a bad regulator if u do pm me i do have some new ones w/motors

I have no idea what that ticking is all about. I've had problems on 3 of my windows so far (convertible). If the regulator was bad, or the gears were chewed, you would still hear the motor operating inside the door, and get the window moving sparatically. I can't spell, but anyway, try getting your head under the dash to hear it, and where exactly it's coming from. I'm not sure how your fuse box is set up, but it could be possible that your window motor is running through a circuit breaker, and not a fuse. If that's the case, the ticking you hear is the breaker being tripped, and resetting itself. If that's the case..., you might be looking at a short curciut.

i would bet even money its the regulator it is in abind take your panel off(takes all of 2minutes) work your window and try and help it, watch it work where it hinges i beleive its probably pulling away from where it is riveted

I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago, only the driver's door window. I pulled of my door panel, unhooked and hooked up the wiring harness, took out the fuse for the window motors, and unhooked my battery for 15 mins. put everything back and it worked fine. I have no idea what caused it, but it has been fine every since then.
