help taking off hatch

how is the wiring harness thats runs into the hatch atatched ? how do i get it out to get hatch of? (85 gt ) is it for defrost? licence plate light?? thanks.

Ok, the rubber plug at the back corner of the drivers side on the hatch needs to be removed. Then un hook the harness from the marker light/ hatch pop harness. After that pull them out, the harness will stay with the car. When you go to put them back in i have found the best thing is to use mig welding wire and to tape it to that and pull it through.
