Hi stangers, I am trying to decide on an amp selection. I was curious in trying a 5 channel amp, but dont know if that 5th channel would be enought to push my sub. Here is the setup, Oh I am trying to spend under $400 on an amp.

I have Infinity components in the front, Polk momo 5x7's in the rear, and a single polk momo 10" in a sealed enclosure I am fabing up. Currently I am running a Mtx 4 channel amp for the back speakers and sub. But its gotten some age and the rear channel finally took a crap. Would a 5 channel amp do it? I know the 4 channels would handle the speakers fine, just worried about the sub being rated at 300rms. Speakers are 100rms for the momo's and about 90 rms for the infinitys. Both of the speakers have there own crossovers. Give me some ideas. $400 is as much as I want to spend. -J

if u want cheap price go with the chrome legacys, i have a 1000 watt and a 600 watt and they have never let me down......despite what ppl think about them my friend and i have never had a problem running our entire system off them.

i like 5 channel amps...but my problem with them is

1. not much power on the 5th channel

2. If something screws up--u lose your whole system at once...u can't send off just your sub amp or what ever--everything goes...
