Help wanted - Edelbrock Supercharger

I recently install an Edelbrock e-Force supercharger on my 2007 Mustang. When I finished the install she started right up without any codes, check engine light or even the angry wrench; in fact it ran and sounded great. So the next logical step was to take it for a spin.

After about a 30 minute shakedown cruise we stopped to get some ice cream. While waiting in the drive thru, the check engine, and wrench lights came on, and a couple of seconds later the engine shutdown. That was a week ago, and it hasn’t started since. The engine kicks over, starts and revs up a little, just like the normal starting sequence, but then shuts down again after a few seconds. Listed below are the codes I pulled off using my tuner.

P2104 Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Idle
P2107 Throttle Actuator Control Module Processor
P2110 Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited RPM

Has anyone ever encountered this problem before with the Edelbrock supercharger or throttle body, or dealt with these codes before?

I would appreciate any troubleshooting ideas or solutions you might have!

What exactly did you do to the throttle body? If you swap out TB's electronics without taking a reference voltage and then put the electronics to a new TB without setting them to the original reference voltage then that could trigger those DTC's

I finished my e-force install yesterday. Loaded the Brenspeed tune and anxiously turned the key....fired, revved up and died...codes 2104, 2107, 0000, took off the TB and re-clocked the spring, then checked it by pushing on the butterfly and making sure it would spring closed on its own. Also removed the TPS and put it back on carefully. Used my SCT to clear the codes and...VOILA, she started right up and runs perfect.

Edelbrock had some bad TB's in the beginning. The bad ones had an allen head screw for idle adjustment. Good ones have a hex head bolt that sticks out. Which one do you have?

Y did you do that? You should've just called Edelbrock and informed them about the situation.

If I was in your place I would have straightaway called them but you knew what you were doing. Good work.

I was doing the install on the Saturday of the 4th of July weekend, so I wouldn't have been able to reach anyone at Edelbrock. Well, at least not until the following Tuesday.Thank god for the internet - a search for the same problem led me to try the fix I did. And it worked

Now all I need is someone around here to do my gears. All the new torque made short work of the lousy factory 3.31's (been noisy since car was bought, changed by the dealer once already, obviously they did a quickie warranty job), pinion bearings are complaining now. Wanna step up to 3.73 if I can find someone good to set them up here in RI.

You may want to check out Dez Racing in Seekonk, MA. I visited the shop this past weekend. Mike Dez was a very personable guy and the shop seems to have a great reputation.

jpplaw its not the extra torque hurting your gears. lower numerical gears ie 331 are actually stronger than say 410s. the higher the number the smaller your pinion gear becomes. now with that said. i had 410s put in my 05 by my friend who has been doing rear and tranny work for almost 20yrs. they were quiet as a mouse until i put my lca's on the car. the rigid bushings of aftermarket lca's transfer every bit of noise from the rear into the body of the car.
