Ok Ive tried to get the TFI module off my 95 gt..I cant get the stupid thing of the heatsink..I tried 5mm deep socket and std size deep sockets...anyone know what size this is for sure...I need to install this as my pos bucks/misfires when underhood temps get warm

A thin wall 5.5 mm (7/32") socket should work. Parts stores sell them (called a TFI wrench) and it's better than grinding down the wall on one of your existing sockets.

FWIW, a misfire is generally not a symptom of a failing TFI.

Good luck.

i found a perfect tool for it at sears. it was like a screwdriver handle with the socket on the end.

mine did exactly that when the plug wires were going bad. it was fine until the engine warmed up, then it would start misfiring

It is definitely a 7/32" thin wall deep socket. That screwdriver handle item with a socket on the end is called a nut driver. You might want to just get the handle with a 1/4" end so you can use your 1/4" drive sockets. I can't imagine not having one in my tool box. It's very handy.
