Help with broken turn signal lever!

Ok so soon spring is coming and last year soemthing happened to my turn signal lever
When i signal to go left the lever locks in place and works fine , but if i want to signal right it never locks in and i have to hold the lever in as i make my turn to keep the signal going...

I have looked on 50 resto and didnt see a new lever assembly for the year i have .The dash and everything is from a 84 svo,

does anyone know where i can get one of these or what may be wrong with it?

Sounds like your turn signal cam assembly took a dump. It's the 'C' shaped piece that the lever engages. Places like Autozone carry the piece.

Ill clal autozone tommorow, otherwise i seen one on ebay for 40 bucks too

how hard are they to change? what does it involve? the peice on ebay says it has the harness its direct replacement no splicing

Last time I had to mess with a TS cam was with a Pontiac, but it should be pretty simple. Remove trim, a couple of screws, and a couple of connectors. You should see what needs to be done once you have the new part and can see how the old one is installed.

Note: I noticed some of the aftermarket cams do not have the flash-to-pass feature.

I believe they list them as a "Multi Function Switch" very easy to install.... They are either torx or security torx screws.

autozone has em for 50 bucks but they gotta order em from the distribution center, so all i need to do is take off the front of the steering wheel and its in there right? do i need any special tools?


have no idea what flash to apss is, does my car have it? how do i tell?

It should be visible after you take off the trim around the steering wheel. The turn signal lever goes into the cam. You may need torx bits, but Ford may have used regular Phillips head screws. You'll find out when you see the cam.

Flash to Pass is a feature where you pull back on the turn signal stalk and the headlights turn on until you release the stalk. If you don't use the feature then you probably won't miss it.
