Help With E-Brake Rattle (MGW Shifter)

I installed the MGW short throw shifter, and as recommended did the dynamat fix to the e-brake...but it didn't help. I am getting some awful rattle when I accelerate. I even took the console apart again, and added more dynamat, but it didn't seem to help. Well, at least I think it's the e-brake that's rattling.

Any help from guys who have this shifter? Also, does anyone know why it rattles? That might help me solve the problem.

Do you have Dynamat on both sides of it? I don't have ANY rattles with my MGW.

If you have any dynamat left try wraping a small amount around the billet rod that slides into the base of the shifter.

I'd first determine if the rattle is coming from the e-brake. While accelerating, have someone squeeze (don't pull it up!) the e-brake when the noise starts and see if that stops the rattle. If so, take it apart and add more dynomat. If not, go under the car and make sure nothing came loose. Locating squeeks and rattles is sometimes difficult. Noise has a funny way of traveling.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll probably add dynamat to the other side, add some to that rod, and check all of the bolts tomorrow (needed to do that anyway).

I wouldn't add any to the rod. Why would the rod need it? If you have installed it properly and the rod is fastened tight there should be zero movement.
