Resolved 87' GT hatch project

New steering shaft is in, go figure it also doesn’t clear the headers… it’s a better fit but still hits and now in two places! also lining up the set screw with the flat spot on the rack the wheel is now turned 90 degrees...

I don’t know if just replacing the engine mounts is gonna get me the extra height, tempted to make or buy engine mount spacers. I’d prefer not to clearance the headers any other ideas?
Hammer and some well placed blows? :coff:

Started the engine for the first time since header/intake install, at first it didn't start. Forgot the dizzy rotates one tooth when installing. Corrected that and the car started! No leaks either, once I get a plug for the pass side header o2 bung and finish the exhaust I can test drive it. I ordered spintech 9000 mufflers, I like the aggressive tone.

While tuning the other day I was unable to add and more fuel over 255 in a few of the cells. I highly doubt a gt40 intake and long tubes would affect the fuel system that much, I have also noticed the pump seems noticeably louder over the last year.

Connected a fuel pressure gauge to the test port off the rail, about 5psi KOEO and the pressure drops immediately. About 28psi KOER, unhooking the fuel pressure regulator doesn’t change anything.

I’m thinking the fuel pump is on its way out, I think it might even be original to the car for all I know…
