im sooo confused i finally got a car and i dont know what to do under the hood

331 stroker is almost out of the question due to machining and i dont want that strong of a engine right off the bat.....

so i was thinking of setting up a 306 all forged, a extremely strong bottom and just throw money at it until its ready for the supercharger

only thing is if i do everything right and run minimal boost could i run a supercharger and run it on the street everyday?

are you coming from a 4 cylinder? if not i'd leave the stock motor in it.

but if you are gonna rebuild anyway a stroker kit is not more expensive to do than a 306 internal kit. but i wouldn't put a 4340 crank in a stock block, not worth it.

the cheapest option is use a stock crank, have it checked and buy a set of forged dss pistons and some i beam rods.

From what I've read, the block will grenade before the stock cast internal parts ... never blown one up myself.

You can build it anyway you like, streetable or a track car, but as a general rule-of-thumb, the further away from stock power levels you go, the less reliable and streetablel your car becomes.

... but you can make 300-450rwhp that is has good street manners.

nah man , im getting a whole kit forged everything including crank, it was originally a 8 cylinder

if you're gonna supercharge it later on, keep it low compression. People drive high peformance, supercharged cars every day, so it can be done; how much fun it is and how much you like it will likely depend on how you build it. You probably won't want a huge cam that makes all it's power in the high RPM's if you're gonna keep it on the street. Your best bet would probably be to find a combo you want and have a custom cam made - contact ed curtis at www.flowtechinduction.com
