Help, y'all. I busted my stereo.

I took out the factory stereo in my 2000 mustang today, to put in an after-market one I pulled from my old ride.

The wires matched perfectly, but when I pluged it all in, it didn't work.

Then, when I pulled it back out and put the OEM radio in, it doesn't work either.

Is there some sort of anti-theft device at work here that I don't know about?

How do I fix this?

I'm not familiar with the oem deck on the 2000 but it's possible that the oem deck might have an anti-theft system that would require a code once reconnected, but you should still have power. Is there any indication of power? ie. lights, lcd flashes, etc. Was there no power at all with the aftermarket radio or no sound? Are you using an aftermarket harness? Is there a factory amp in the car? Please provide more info.

no just the high end cars...Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, INfinitie,, cars of that nature... just check the fuse, even if it looks fine replace anyway...some blown fuses ive seen didnt even look blown, do you have a fuse tester...if not there cheao like 2 $ at kragen, autozone, there a very handy piece to have lying around in your car
