Well I was on my way home today and the car started to make this wierd creaking noise under acceleration, however it was not to bad so I went on driving. Alittle bit further down the raod i noticed that my Autometer Temp guage had pegged its self past the 250 degree mark and that is when I noticed that the creaking noise had gotten worse(kinda like loose metel shaking all over the place). As i tried to make it home it got worse and worse...my check engine light came on and my overflow tank blew its top and shot water all over the place. When I made it home it started to shoot white smoke out the rear end. When I opened the hood nothing (other that the water all over the place) seemed out of place. there were small pools of lquid bubbling near the water pump, the oil dip stick tube seems really loose, and my spacer on the intake mamfold was wet, that is the only yhting that was odd in the engine. the headers were on tight and everthing else was in its proper place. Please help me with this delima I am at a complete loss.

P.S. the resivor(sp) was full of water and white floating stuff.

sounds like maybe your water pump took a crap and then you overheated your car and possibly blew a head gasket.

No offense dude...

But do you think that maybe you should have stopped the car at some point after you started hearing weird engine noises, had your temp gauge pegged, and boiled over your overflow tank!?

You blew a headgasket because you way overheated your engine. I don't know why you expect to see "oil in the engine compartment" due to a blown headgasket...but the tell-tale signs are all there. That white smoke from the rear end? That's coolant coming out of your tailpipes.

As to WHY you initially overheated and blew a headgasket, like mootang originally said, your waterpump probably took a ****, explaining the weird noise you were hearing.

If you would have stopped the car, you probably would have had to have replaced the waterpump and thats it.

Now not only will you have to replace the headgasket, you'll have to make sure you didn't damage your motor as well (water in the oil isn't good for bearings).

white smoke out the tailpipes = coolant in the pistons....you may not be leaking into the oil passages yet, so it's just getting into the rear pistons. The coolant passages are so close to the rear pistons, they might only be going there, for now.

Not to censure you, but I hope this is a lesson to you. Sorry that is happened, but maybe now you know.

Well it is offical not only did i blow the heads but some how I broke the fuel line that connects the 2 fuel rails together it was squirting out when the fuel pump primed. now it is time to rip apart the engine i guess. yeah i learned that when it over heats to just stop driving right then and there not to "try and make it home".
