here is a good laugh

Any update on this match up? My next door neighbor has an M35(not too sure what the difference is, looks similar) and he was geezer driving until I WOT passed him. Then he decided to pace me from the side. I never speak to the neighbor, he's an *******, and I would have loved to blow his snooty ass out of the water but I'll save that one for a chance encounter on the highway and for when my NOS tank is full for ultimate humiliation.

funny this would come up, my mom just bought a 1008 g35 and i have my 99 mustang gt with mods, if u got a bottle ur gona win hands down unless u f up shifting, the g35 is quick dont get me wrong but in the end my mustang comes out ahead

Yeah - I think that stock for stock the mustang would could still come up on top. The only car I've ever sprayed against was a Turbo'd RX8. It made a lot of noise but you need more than a turbo to give a rotary engine torque.

It's not exactly laughable. They are pretty quick cars.

I test drove one a couple weeks ago and almost traded my GT in and leased one. I would have it now if not for the fact that a 20,000 mile lease requires you to pretty much almost pay full value of the car only to give it back...so i walked.

But anyway, slow off the line but from a roll they can move well. From a dead stop race the Mustang would have the advantage with torque. From a dig on the highway it will hang with a stock GT....I had the pleasure of finding this out firsthand when a '08 G35x played around with me on the highway and was right with me at my every move.

The 6-spd RWD version is supposedly quicker and guys on G35driver.com where i hang out are getting mid 13's out of them. The AWD G35x is able to hit a high 13 stock, but only a few guys have gotten a 13 second time slip from the AWD model..they are typically a low to mid 14 second car. They are posting timeslips and vid as well to back these times up. It's almost scary how easy a 13-second time slip can be had with one of them with a few mods. There are several in the 12's with bolt-ons.

Now go to the track and watch how many 99+ are struggling in the mid 14's even with minor mods

Honestly, i was all set to trade my GT in and felt like i was staying even in the speed department...but gaining one hell of a car.

As soon as I sell my GT privately, i am going down to talk about purchasing one. It's not going to stay stock either :) I love G35's

theyre definately nice as hell and they can move from a roll.

But stock for stock, from a dig, a mustang should have the advantage...especially him considering he is modded and the other guy is buying a 4 dr auto.

lol i think he is scared he wont do it for some odd reason i guess once i bought the nittos he doesnt it was a lost cause. i said i would even hook a trailer hitch up to my car to tow his car to the track to smoke him and he still said no he wants to race highway lol im not doing that though. ill gladly do a 1/4 mile for him.

i didnt want to race him at all he challeneged me. so that gives me the right to choose the race of where and when. and if his car is so much faster than mine he should be able to take me lol. Ill do what i did when i raced a c5 vette owner stay on motor till he starts pulling then hit it and embarass him.

besides his car would have to be faster than a mach from a roll. if he cant take a mach from a roll he wont take me on motor. not that i know from experience or anything. lol

I was at the track 2 Tuesdays ago, there was a group of six guys with them (one being a buddy who took his wife's)..
Four were stock....look at my mods and I cleaned 2 of em...the other 2 just sat and showed off their neon lights...
I mean, I made em condsider import buys....another was modified with an intake and exhaust, and if I remember correctly a tune, and he was catching me, but he ran out of track...the last one...(naturally the quiet guy) was at my door when we crossed the line....he had also an intake an exhaust, a tune and something I didnt understand....you know "a J-31 TT7 H4...bla bla"....

Needles to say....wasnt an issue beating em...mind you I did hear my girlfriend say..."uh...babe...he's almost beside you" while shifting into fourth...lol

I even beat a stock one while missing a shift into third...(before the Tri-ax I must add...damn TKO's...)

I'm sorry if this was already said in the thread but how big is your shot? I was looking at your 1/8th mile time and was impressed. Have you ever ran it at the track without the shot of nos?
