That's what he has. That's why he has the off idle acceleration problems common to carb setups that need some really skilled tuning.

I am not a a hair on fire carb guy, but I would look for vacuum leaks and idle bleed screw settings - they cause poor idle quality. For poor acceleration, check for accelerator pump problem or settings. Make sure that pump does squirt, and it does not squirt too little or too late.

A Google sarch for carb tuning will lead you to tons of info on how to tune carbs. Granted that most of it is for SB Chevvy's, but a carb is a a carb and works the same on a Chevvy or Ford.

yep i would check for leaks mainly the carb gasket. and if it has a spacer make sure to get some good gaskets. take a propane torch with no flame just with the gas coming out, and put it around the gaskets, if the idle jumps thats the problem. you can use carb cleaner also.

Richard Pryor, the black comedian who torched himself while freebasing with cocaine said "Fire is a wonderful depilatory". I have always considered that sage advice coming from someone with firsthand experience. Therefore I avoid using highly flammable substances when looking for vacuum leaks. A squirt can of motor oil is a safer, but messier choice.

Did check for vac leaks found none. Replaced the base gasket anyways.ordered a 80 gph fuel pump. Going to try to get so bigger jets and plug the power valve see if that helps. it ran tish way when i had the brock on it to. Just changed to holley a few weeks ago. hopeing to solve it .
