I was searching through some old treads and came across one where you were saying you don't think roller rocker are worth the $$. does that mean your running stock ones? Cause if you are and your making 293 rwhp, then you can bet I wont be buying any. can you still rev to like 6500 rpms. If I don't need them then Ill take the $$ I had planned for them and call Ed C for a custom cam.:nice:

Let me see if I can clear that up for you :D

RR's are small gain mod :(
even if
You are going to a 1.7 ratio with them

Just too little gain for too much spent IMHO :notnice:

I prefer stud rockers over ped rockers :)

Now ... OEM heads require ped rockers ;)

If one has plans to go with after market heads
and
They understand the worth or value of stud rockers
then
Don't waste money on the ped rr mod for OEM heads
cause
They don't fit in with the long term plan
and
You loose money by buying rockers ... twice :bang:

Just the way I saw it when ..........
I was fooling around with my self ported E7 combo
so
I ran the oem rockers with that combo

As for my current combo ............
I wasn't about to put ped rockers on my AFR's :nono:
much less
The oem stamped steel ped rockers :rlaugh:

I'm running Scorpion 1.6 studs and they've worked out dandy!

I HAVE AFR 165'S

You're better off waiting until you are ready to buy a camshaft.

I currently run the stock stamp steel rockers:D

I believe the stockers become a problem with higher lift/duration cams by rubbing on the valve springs.

I am planning to go with the Steeda #19 and a 1.7:1 roller rockers.

Reason being my heads won't benefit from much more cam and I don't want to invest into a Tweecer, PMS or chip to tune my ride.

just curious how do you like your Lakewood lca. good grip no wheel hop?

The Lakewood LCAs are excellent. Absolutely no wheel hop.
Also, there is no side to side movement. Before with the stock setup my 275/40ZR17 BFG DRs would rub the top of the fender on hard corners.

I did install all of my suspension parts at one time. So I can't say individually what effected the ride most. It all seems to work very well together.

She's tight now :D

If you already have the AFR's
then
The decision has already been made
cause
You order the heads to work with the specific type of rocker

Unless things have changed
Its not an ... either or kind of thing

Refresh my memory :D

What intake and cam are you gonna go with?

Grady

What I meant was If I didnt need to buy pedistile mount roller rockers than I wouldnt,I knew I had to use pedistile mount, but i f I could get away with the stockers than I would. I have AFR (1472) and a preformer rpm, as far as the cam I dont have one yet but I had a couple choices in mind #1 custom #2 crane2031 or #3 xe270hr xe66hr
