I had to tell someone about this Irony... So like 70 impala I've been looking for white cargo panels for an ETERNITY and the other day I'm cruising a junk yard and I look at a really hammered II with A BLACK INTERIOR. Then I look closer and see a few scrapes on the cargo panels showing white underneath. Turns out somone had spray painted them black and it seems the black paint has preserved them! I'm hoping I can use a fine sandpaper and remove the black paint, restoring them to white. Anyone tried sandpaper on cargo panels?

Don't use sand paper unless you want a sanded smooth finish there is a texture you want to preserve. use chemicals and soft nylon bristles

Use really fine grit sandpaper like 1500 it will not scratch away the texture. I did this to my interior and it looks like factory paint. Use Krylon Fusion paint for plastics......it is fantastic stuff.
