Hey..I'm new here....

Hey How's it goin?...I'm Kyle, 18 from Toronto. I've been into the 5L's for a while now (theres lots in my area) and i'm interested in picking one up... probably this summer. I'm worried about insurance costs, firstly i was wondering if anyone here had a 85-93 and is around my age...what are you paying for insurance?...i'm scared to call CAA for a quote..lol. I currently drive a 87 Olds Cutlass Ciera. Any help is appreciated. :D

Hey Kyle. Welcome to the boards :nice:

Sorry to say but there's no way you'll be paying 50$/month for a 5.0 since you live in Ontario. And no offense, but you're fairly young. You guys get rubbed big time. I'm 24, pretty much perfect driving file, and I pay around 160$ per month, full protection for my 95 GT.

I wish I knew what to tell you. Your best bet is to call the different insurance companies to really know man.

Good choice for your future mustang. These are the best years

yeah but you got a gt, and full protection, just don't take full protection and your insurance will reduce from half and if you don't take vandalism, fire etc,etc.. it will drop from 100$ approx../year

Just a reminder these cars will cost ya some $$ above and beyond the insurance and the gas. The Fox body cars are now all over 10yrs and VERY few have been treated as nicely as your cutlass.. I would dare to say most every car your going to find has been riden hard and put away wet on several occasions. Don't want to change your mind cause these cars are second to none in my book, but it does seem every time I collect the cash to do a new mod something decides to break or give out on me redirecting my mod cash to matenaince spending. If you can do the work yourself and prevent a mechanic from seeing it you will be well off, but you have to prepair yourself for the upkeep. Perhapse you can keep the cutlass as your daily, then you'll be good to go when the 5.0 needs TLC.

Here in canada east....how many members are from the GTA?
Should i send in an application for the GTAMC? anyone a member?

#688 :D

we're having a huge member turnout at the Noyz-Boyz show this weekend.

$2315/yr sounds cheap for an 18 y/o to me.
I have the same car and pay $1200/yr, but i'm 30+, get a long-time customer discount, and multiple policy discount.

And like DMAN302 said, make sure you can do the repairs and mods yourself, because repair bills will kill you on an older car.

Hey sup dude!

Well i'm 19 from Montreal area...
I have a 95 GT so I can tell ya about insurances... BUT, take in note that my car is under my dad's name... So far, i have a perfect record and it cost me 1500$/year for FULL coverage... Do you really want to know how much it would've cost me full coverage under my name ?... 3500$/year :notnice: heh, so that's why it's under my dad's name and that's why I don't fool around that much :)

Good luck bro, keep us updated, and if you have questions, don't hesitate, we'r fairly at the same age :)
