I think its quite interesting..... very daring!! I might get committed to the looney bin but I like it! It will certainly be a collectors item. I wonder if the stripes are tape?

Nope. If I'm going to spend that kind of cabbage on a car, I'm going to like the colour combination.

And I'm not sure how it’s going to be a "collector item"? The Shelby's are pretty widely mass produced.....especially in that colour this year.

I understand the history behind Grabber Blue, but OMG is it atrocious on these newer cars!

i dont like how the stripes go around the third brake light and plate.... if i had stripes they would have to go all the way

That's because Ford is too cheap to spend a bit more money and have the stripes painted on! I'd like to know who's decision that was and what the reasoning was behind it! Have the stripes as a factory option and have them painted on or none at all. That's what they did with the Ford GT. Then there wouldn't be an issue of not looking right! What bugs me the most is the fact that they don't go past the leading edges and tuck them either! Total garbage when spending that kind of coin:mad:

I agree with kooldawg on this.....if I'm spending that kind of money on a "special edition" car, then the stripes had better be painted on and done right.

The most horrendous part of that car though is the dealership stickers on the back  If I'm spending that much on a car (especially with the HUGE premiums and markups that the GT500s have) then the dealership isn't paying me to advertise for them and they DAMN WELL arent putting any of their tacky stickers on it!!!!

And I would tell them up front before they even prep the car that they are not to put them on it....because I am NOT going to remove them.....

That has always pissed me off, and now its even worse that they want to put on a sticker with the dealership name, and another one with the website.....:notnice:

I've never had a problem - I just tell them to remove them before I sign any papers, or put in the "We Owe You" document that they will remove the decals.

I thought that Shelby's were almost always marked over sticker... maybe there is a reason they are asking sticker for this one...

Well, my thought was "How many Grabber Blues with red stripes do you see runnin' around?" That makes for a rarity among lots of GT500s. The window sticker lists 'Colorado Red Tape Stripe' as part of the car. Later on when counts are taken on how many cars came in which color combinations I don't think there will be too many Grabber Blue/Red combinations. So here is an example of something that many people would say rare and ugly .

Its sort of on the same line as Grabber Orange GT500s in the past. Lots of GT500s but not many in that color.

Not too many Chamois interiors for the GT in 2007/08.

This sort of thing is what strict collectors dwell on. I'm not a collector in that sense, so if I like the blue and hate the red then yes I would yank off the stripes and call it a day. :D

BTW, its down to $47,500 buy it now.
