I am putting 18x9 wheels on and am not sure who makes a really good all weather (all season) performance tire. Want to keep around the same height or a hair more as factory, the wheelwells you know. Most of the tires mentioned that I have seen are either mostly drag or fair weather I think?? I drive it frelatively hard but canyon carving more than drag racing. just because it is wet I don't want to be a limiting factor. Any help-experience, would be greatly appreciated.

I use the Falken AZENIS Sport RT615 on my track car, 99 GT, and they work really well in wet and dry. They also have a 240 tread wear rating so they won't wear out too fast. Grassroots motor sports rated them as the top autocross tire. Not bad for a 240 tread rating. My old BFG R-1's I used to run had a 0 tread wear rating.
As long as you're not going to see snow, KDW2's all the way. And actually they're not pricey. They tend to be on the cheaper end of performance tires.

i dont know what part of the country you live but im in southeast texas and i roll with nitto 555s. 275/40/17 in back and 245/45/17 in front. i cant rotate them for obvious reasons but in 8 months of never being rotated and driven daily, wear is even on front and back. nice tread pattern and tire is not too soft and not too hard like some kuhmos ive run accross in the past. which btw stay away from kuhmos. those things turn into wagon wheels after a few months
I meant a little pricey considering the cheaper tires in that size that are out there. But you are correct, they are relatively cheap for a high performance tire

mine works really well and can take a fair amount
I have the 235/50-18 KDWS on the Ford "fanblades". I have just over 14K miles on them and they still look brand new. Other than being able to spin most of first gear away now with my mods, they seem to handle pretty good. I got them from tirerack, who has them for less than $100 each.

second set of 255/45/18 kdw.first set got 28000 out of them.i run 32lbs in them and check pressure every other day.here in phoenix they last that long.only bad part was when they got down low on the marker tabs they started to ride a bit hard.excellent traction, rain or shine.not much rain here but when it does they were great.
I went cheap and bought 255/45/18 Nexen 3000's for the time being. I upgraded to 18" aftermarket rims and needed a cheap tire alternative for a few years. The tires are surprisingly good. By no means top of the line, but pretty sticky for $100 each. Plus they have a cool tread pattern and not much road noise.

How much all-season are we talking? 20 degrees & a couple inches of snow? or 40 degrees & rain?
I love Goodyears Eagles F1 DS-G3's, but they are expensive. Excellent in the dry & rain, & I've run them in 40 degree weather. I think next up for me is Khumo Ecsta SPT, as it's cheaper but still performs really well, dry or wet. I'll be running snow tires for winter.
