Mac sells high-flow catted H-pipes, some of you may have seen my other thread where I cant figure out wuts wrong w/ my car... (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=5111143#post5111143) may have to replace the h-pipe. If I replace it, i might as well upgrade to a high-flow model, but will the high-flow change the effectiveness of the cats? Cuz I need it to pass!! I cant drive the sucker

If anything, compared to your old stock cats you may find it running cleaner.

I had a second hand Steeda 2.5" cat h-pipe that fit like a glove on my '90 LX, but the cat guts broke, making it sound like I had spun a bearing. I think it was actually made by Moreflow based on pictures I have seen. I replaced it with a BBK 2.5" cat h-pipe that fit like crap. I ended up having to get the tailpipes bent to make it fit, and BBK basically told me to f- myself when I complained. Both made the car blow cleaner out the pipes with GT40 iron heads, Mac shorties and an MSD6A than my identical beater '90 LX convertible that is bone stock. Based on my experience, I think that fresh cats will overcome a multitude of sins, and help you pass smog easily unless you have really radical mods. I think the choice is yours, but I had a real problem getting the BBK to fit.

the high flow and higher-end stuff uses more precious metals and in different configurations to flow air, yet succept the exhaust to the catalyzing process - best of both worlds. I dont see any downside.

if you get an idea of which product you are gonna get, I would post about it and get peoples' opinions on that particular item (via their feedback if they run the product).

good luck.

We've run the MAC high flow cat H-pipe and it is still good after 6 years or so, all the element is there and we still pull over 450RWHP through them...

I run a Bassani Stainless H-pipe ... best money I ever spent ... granted a lot of money but worth the price in my opinion.

Magnaflow Hi Flow catted H pipes are great. Hottexhaust.com 299 shipped to you. Fits great, stainless, cats are probably the best out there.

If you get the MAC pipe & it is shipped in two pieces, be sure to get it welded once you have it bolted in place. Other wise it will leak and rust out where it clamps the H part of the pipe together.

The other thing is mine didn't fit in the hangers on the rear trans mount when I went to a Tremec 3550. I had to cut the hangers off to make it fit.

The I got the new hangers welded further back. Really didn't even need them but for piece of mind.
