Hi guys my name is Nathan and I live in southern CA. I havn't bought a mustang yet but I will be getting a 99+ GT in Jan from my cousin. My question is what kinds of mods can I do and still pass the strict Cali emission laws? Thanks in adavnce.

Welcome. As far as mods it all depends on how extreme you want to go. A good beginning would be some new gears, short throw shifter, CAI w/ K&N, cat back exhaust and a midpipe. Maybe some headers. Just search the site, you should get plenty of ideas.

Yeah i wanna stay pretty mild (at least for now) for the simple reason that I drive 30 miles to college everyday. I don't wanna completly ruin my gas mileage. Mustang GT already gets better MPG than my current vehicle.....86 F-150..haha :bang:

Forget gears if you want good gas mileage, or just get mild gears (depending on what it comes with stock?). If you want moderate power increase I would get exhaust and cold air first. Possibly headers, but they are a pain in the ass to install (at least on my 97...). Those items shouldnt change emissions as long as you:
a) dont get a midpipe, keep the stock catted H
b) get a midpipe with cats that you know will pass emissions (never seen these...)
