Hit a frickin bird- need a new coolant overflow tank

I was driving the stang around for a nice leisurely drive and going around 45mph a pair of birds fly right in front of my car. I notice only one flew past, so I'm thinking "great- hit a bird" and really didn't think about it and drove home. A few days later I notice I'm getting a "Low Coolant" light and I'm wondering what's going on with my coolant? So I drive her around but no abnormal rises in temp. I get home and pop the hood....and find feathers...everywhere...

I checked the hoses and assemblies on the motor and accessories and notice this fine white coating of something all over the motor (was it the bird or something else?) and satisfied that none of the connectors are damaged, I glance down and see that the overflow tank has a HUGE hole - from where it was riding on the supercharger belt. Apparently when the bird hit the front, it must of got sucked into the engine bay and knocked the bolt holding the overflow tank to the bracket and made the tank rest on the moving belts carving a nice hole in it.

The question I wanted to ask was does anyone know the part number for the OEM tank? I know Canton makes an aluminum tank but I don't see spending 150 bucks for something that can be done with the original unit. Anyways any responses will be appreciated.

Might want to look into like a Moroso universal overtank from Summit. I know there's a couple on here that have them. Or you could do what I did use your windshield wiper fluid tank as your overtank. I can't credit for it, 95snoozer cam up with the idea, but so far it works great and the coolant sensor will fit in the wiper tank with very little modification. Cleans up the engine bay a bit too.

I'm just scratching my head as to how the bird got to the overflow tank without first damaging the radiator. Seems like the radiator would serve as a shield since the tank is mounted behind it Oh well, s**t happens. A used one from a junk yard would probably be quite cheap.

Sounds rather stright forward ... but do you happen to have a "how-to" on this? Any dis-advantages?
