HOLLEY 4160 3310 OR 80508

I'm going to buy a new Holley 4160 in the next few days and I've got a few questions for the ones of you who have owned these carbs. I'm trying to decide wether I should buy the 3310 manual choke or the 80508 electric choke. My car is going to be 99% street (not a daily driver) so would a 3310 without the choke hooked up start my car (fairly mild 408 build) in warm weather without too much problem? If I buy the 80508 do the electric chokes work OK? I'm assuming these two carbs are the same except for the choke differences. Is that correct?

A manual choke works fine and is simpler to boot. Assuming you don't live near Santa Clause, and can remember to pull the choke cable, you'll be more than happy.

Let me give you an idea how a Holley starts in warm weather--------I live in south Louisiana and the first thing I do when I get a Holley ready to use is remove the choke assembly altogether. Even on cold mornings, it only takes a few minutes time, "babying" the carb till it warms enough to idle on it's own. In warm weather, all the choke is good for is window dressing on the carb, it's completely unnecessary for starting the engine.

i have a holley 4150 on my car right now. it's suposed to be used for a dual carb setup, as it has no secondary acc. pump and no choke whatsoever (not even holes bored out for it), but i've never had ANY issues with it starting, even when it's 30 degrees out. jst a couple pumps of gas when it's really cold, and let it warm up for a few and it's good to go.

I live just south of Lou., Ky. It does get cold (can be a relative term) in the winter but I'm not likely to be driving it in cold weather. It will mainly be a fair weather car. It looks like I'll go ahead and order the 3310C and be done with it. It's good to be able to draw from others experiences. Thanks again for all the good info I've picked up on this site.
