I am planning to put a Holley blue pump on by carbed 82. I have a choice of an 80 carbed tank with the stock 5/16 fuel pickup at the bottom in front or 92 efi 4 cyl tank with the pickup in the top.

If I use the 92 efi tank with either a hose on the stock pickup or a carbed conversion pickup, will the Holley pump, say mounted to the frame in beside the tank, pull enough fuel to feed a Holley 600 and 150 shot?

I plan new 3/8 lines to the front, but I don't want to go to the trouble to sump the tank.

Checked a couple recent threads, and it did not seem that anyone had done the blue pump with a top feed pickup setup?

Anyone got a setup like this that works?

Spend the $100.00 and get a proper pick up. Chances are more mod's will find there way in to your car and thus more fuel will be needed.... the stock pick up on the 92' tank just wont cut it. The return line wont be big enough as well to regulate the fuel pressure proparly. Either that or just go with the 1980 Fuel Tank. It will do the job for now.
Saltymaz claim's his "400HP @ the wheels" 351W work's fine with his farmer rigged set up. Well there's no way he's even close to making 400RWHP so his set up may work on a close to stock setup but it would never cut it on a true 400+HP engine. Not only that but he'll be lucky if he can even get his fuel pressure down to an operational level (7-8psi) with that small return line.
Go with the 1980 tank and you'll do all right for now.
