Hi,

I have a new hood and everything seems fine except I can't latch the hood down tight. When I shut the hood, the latch catches just fine and seems normal. It's the secondary latch that is supposed to lock down the hood that's not activating. I have moved the latch around in every possible way but I can't seem to get it to work.

Is there some secret here I am missing? Could it be that my latch is not working properly? My stock hood was always a pain to close tight and I would have to drop it from a pretty high position to have it lock down. I thought this was kind of normal for Mustang hoods, though.

Thanks for any help!

I called Cervini today and they mentioned I should look at the two bumpers that can be adjusted. I totally forgot about those. I lowered them and the hood now latches. It's still like the OEM hood, though. I have to give it a good drop and a push will not lock into place. I would really like to fix this problem. I feel like I am beating up on the hood every time I close it.

I shimmed the entire hood latch assembly bracket with plastic shims cut from a VCR tape storage box (easy to cut to match the shape of the bracket, no rust). This eliminated the need to drop the hood from 2 feet. Just set it down, give a single firm push, and it's latched. If you want to see pics, PM me and I'll email them to you.
