Progress Thread Hoopty v2.0 - Back in action!

i’d say that the difference between cheap and expensive has a lot to due with the different casting processes, materials used in the trunnions/roller tips and the ultimate variables that may occur in ratio. Ive had just about every rocker made Crane, Harland Sharp, Comp, Crower, and some cheap blue ones back in the 90s ( maybe proform?) Nothing failed on me, but then I never kept one long enough anyway.

LOL. This is all from my woodworking side hustle. I sold a bunch of wood, plus I have a large batch of Texas flag cutting boards coming up that will be for sale as well. That should pay for the tune and the trans rebuild.

Shameless plug:

I’ll take a NY one........ so I can repeatedly stab it, cut it, and stab again. What a joke this place is. Time to really contemplate staying or going.
(Nice work by the way..... just had to vent a little)

Is there a really simple explanation why this wont fit a '93?

Edit* Yes, there is. I will order the 93 cobra kit, after doing some reading on the site.

I’m kinda down with some yet-to-be-identified crud, but got bored and went outside to work on the car since I got a stack of boxes. But first! Two of my favorite things I wanted to share :

1)the dork-o-motive podcast is back and you should give it a try. Brian Lohnes is the announcer for the NHRA and is a historical auto-geek and it’s a great dive into historical automotive and other motorsports events.

Second - I got a Light bar headlamp and I absolutely love it. It was like working in noontime daylight this evening.

I was using both of them this evening and figured y’all might enjoy them as well.

Anyway, a while back I manual swapped the car and never finished the interior. I’ve been driving around with a rag over the hole in the hump. Plus the bezel was covered in felt for some reason.

So, I ordered the stupid $130 manual trans hump from LMR, along with a new boot, bezel, and cup holder console. Looks like a new car! The color matched as close to perfect as I could have hoped for.

I also have a double din radio install kit but all the head units seem to be back ordered. I’ll have to wait on that.

Finally, my parts pile on the workbench is reaching critical mass, I’ll need to do something about it soon.

After texting the PO, the car should have all new aftermarket speakers in it. At some point I may add an amp and do a decent system, but for now this is more than fine.

I started working on the emergency brake swap. I tried for a good 10 minutes to get the factory brake cables out by depressing the tabs and pulling it through before getting the saw out and cutting them off. Not an easy task.

Didn’t get much further than that however, I think I’m missing a bracket for the cables to mount in?
