Progress Thread Hoopty v2.0 - It All Snowballed

Have you tried using the low speed relay to trip an heavier one or tested the relay to see if it is working?
Yeah, we've been through everything and it just seems like the computer isnt sending the command. Hopefully my neighbor can come by this weekend and we can hook HP Tuners up and see if we can command the fans on.
I did order a HD relay just so I can drive it around this weekend.

Updates;

Mustang: may have found a local guy willing to trade my turbo kit for a fresh 351. I have moved the mustang back into its normal spot where the bronco has been sitting as I prepare to take it all apart.

Bronco: Pretty sure the PCM is bad. Waiting on the wiring guy to send me another one to test and see if there's any improvement.

I'll have more soon.

Well, the teardown of the fox started yesterday. The turbo stuff is being traded for a "fresh" 351 of unknown vintage. I bought some link bar lifters and headers for $500. Assuming the heads and cam are unharmed in the fox, I should have a running motor, if not something very close.

The overall plan is just to get it running again in mild form and save for a big-inch build later down the road.

The Bronco should have a new PCM arrive this weekend and *hopefully* fixes the fan issue and have it on the road.

Heads an easy fix we like spoke about!

I’m excited for the next chapter as you’re going a route I wish I could with another car for the fun of it

I spent a little more time looking them over and I think 95% of the damage is superficial and will clean up taking .010 off. Exhaust valve is either bent or has trash in the seat. But yeah, easy fix for sure.

I picked up these this weekend:

Ill pull the cam out this week and make sure its good then I'm 99% complete on this new motor.

I'll update on the bronco later. Short of it is the issue the whole time is loose pins at the PCM/Harness connection

EFF THIS BRONCO, MAN! Posting here too since a lot of the wiring is similar.

When you turn the key on, the brake lights come on. The hazard flashers do not work, the L turn signal works, the R turn signal does not. When you turn the key off, lights go off and the hazards work.

The ONLY modifications to the body harness I made are:
  • Jumper for the NSS on the truck side of the trans harness plug
  • Trans harness is gone due to use of 6R80
  • Jumper from pk/grn wire under steering column to fuel pump relay to supply key on power to relay.
  • ECM is gone, plug is still intact.

I have replaced the bulbs, multifunction switch, blinker relay in the fuse panel, checked all fuses.

I have a Chilton manual and have studied the body harness diagram. something in the key on circuit seems to be causing this issue but I'm stumped. The daytime running light module seems to be absent and fuse 3 and circuitry seems to be missing as well. (missing pre-swap)

Happy to take more photos of harness, etc. but I think its all pretty basic.
