How much horsepower are you getting at the rear wheels and what are some of your quarter times. I went to get the car dynoed on Friday and the numbers were lower than what I wanted. However, I keep in mind the weight of the 67 coupe. Just wondering what others have seen.
thanks

My car is a 1969 Mach 1 with 351 Windsor, and it dynoed at 155 rwhp :bang: :bang: :bang: But you have to keep in mind that i am in utah and thats at 5000 ft elevation. Once I put in my headers and full Dr. Gas 2.5" exhaust system I hope it will get me to around 180 rwhp. We are pretty short for air here. What did you dyno at, and what elevation are you at? Im curious to hear other numbers too.

vobraman- what are your numbers?

NorCal66- That chart seems to be accurate if using street tires.

I run a 13.2 @ 108mph with 360hp at the engine with a 3200lb car. I was guessing I have 290hp at the wheels and it says 288hp.
My brother runs a 14.2 with 215hp at the wheels with a 3200lb car.

R code - Where the heck is a chassis dyno here in N. Utah. I am in Layton.

BTW - are you gonna be at the Aug 12 show in Provo. I am going to bring the coupe there.

You really do lose a lot of hp through the drivetrain. The weight doesn't hurt the HP, only the HP to weight ratio if you have a heavy ride.

Hey finally another mustang enthusiast on this that lives in Utah. You know I have been looking for the exact same thing. Mine was dynoed when I took the carb to get tuned at royce's automotive, but I hear his dyno is a 30 yr old dyno and isn't worth anything. Dr. Gas here in sandy is getting a portable chassis dyno soon though, within the first week of July or so is what Neal there said. I didn't know about the show in Provo I'll probably plan on going there now. 65 do you have an aim account?? Also what are your numbers and what you running?? I think 155 rwhp is really low for a windsor.

i dyno'd 287rwhp and 290rwt 2 years ago when i was running 13.2's @ 104-105 trap speeds.
i'm going to get my car dyno'd next sat to find out where i am at now that i run 12.5's @ 108-109 trap speeds.

I dont under stand how all the calculatons work. 1/4 time depends os much on traction. Obviously a car with street tires running a 13 flat is going to have more power than one running 13 flat with slicks. Suspension set up plays a role too.

Here is what I am running.

331 Stroker
TFS ported heads
roller cam
750 Speed Demon / Vic Jr. intake

Tremec TKO 5 Speed

Currie 9 inch 31 spline axles 3.89s

I don't know the dyno numbers because I haven't used one. I plan on Low 12s, high 11s (just by the way the car feels).

I lose less power than you do 69 because you have a C6. Those things eat a lot of power. You can get a really strong C4 for 750 bucks. It is lighter and eats less than a C6.

hp

sorry to start a post and hide, however, the car had 220rwhp. That is less than what i thought. However, the air/fuel ratio was greatly improved. The car picked up about 12hp from the first pull on the dyno. I plan on a 100hp shot of NOS and that should give me the time I want. I had the nos plate on the car, not hooked up. We took the plate of and gained 8hp. Why, I do not know. I am going to make some more changes over the next couple of weeks. Looking at some of the responses that are posted I do not feel real bad. Any suggestions are welcome.

Yeah right now I can't afford a new tranny. Im really tight for money as it is. I hope tp get my car into the 12's too. Around 400-420 fwhp. Thats my goal. My headers get here at the end of the month and then I can set up my whole Dr. Gas system with spintechs.

 :nice: Wasn't this car ment to be a nice and easy daily driver Sal???? :rlaugh: How's the 4.6L project going btw?

Well you know mustang's don't seem to want to stay stock. :)
Damn Paxton. :D Still tunning it though.

4.6 project is stopped while I get the 67 efi'd and aod'd. Soon this car will be on the road also.
