HOT new tire from yokohama!!!

that tire is for autocrossing, not designed for drag racing. if i remember right, there was a guy running nasty times in his prosche at the last auto-x event i raced in on those tires. they seem like a great tire, they just don't have the soft sidewall for drag.

ya i think the ao32 is a slalomin tire..the R tho i dunno..im guessin still for auto x but maybe its that sticky R compound 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'..just a guess
and i think i remember our drag radials back in highschool being 0 treadwear..they dont last long on the street..

They seemed new to me, i guess because Yokohama said so in their advertisement: "Yokohama's new A032 is their ultimate DOT-approved racing tire. A proven winner, it brings new technology to the street and the track. Its tread, sidewall and compounding are direct descendents of their sports car racing slicks."

I've never seen them (dosnt mean muvh) or heard anyone talk about them, and there was no commentary about them by users on discount tire's site either, as if they were just released.

Oh well, I guess no one has run them here, and at 184 per tire, I prob. wont be the first. But I must say, they look awsome!

88mustanggt,

Those do look great for road wars, but I also need the tire to work well in the rain. My stang is a daily driver. Any suggestions for that? I want my cake and to eat it too, oh and some ice cream . . .

My price range is about 120-140 a piece. Also, is there anything wrong with running a 245 on a 7 inch pony?

i thought the same they are my daily tires, in the rain they grip awsome, i never had so much grip in the rain in my mustang. way better then generic tires.

its almost not as fun because of all the grip, plus rain here in az is rare and fun unlike and annoyance in other states

how many miles do they go for? Oh, and what size are you running, will my proposed size cause any problems?

with these you would be limited to 2 options 205 55 r16 V rated at 89 a peace or so. or th 215 45 r16 z rated at 110 a peace. they are a soft tire so smoke shows wont be on your first of priorites. but i have had mine for 4 or 5 months and i just rotated them last weekend. front edges were geting rounded, but other than that they are awsome. i would personaly go with the ones for 89. i dont think you would feel much of a diffrence in the with of the tire. the walls of them are very very stiff:)

Well I ended up getting the yokohama AVS ES100's. They seem to be the best value for the money, also free shipping. Here's a link to see them if your not familiar:

I've been running these tires since my Nitto DR's wore out.
They've been pretty good, you'll be happy.
I do 245/45/16 out back and 225/50/16 up front.
