I didn't build my "POS MN12" with the intention of it being a collector’s car. For what I've got into my Cougar, I could have had an '03/'04 Cobra half paid for right now, but I didn't go that direction cause I was sick of them by that time. I went with my MN12 because I wanted a change from the Mustang scene for a while and I wanted a fast, full size car that I could haul my 6'2" 260 frame in....and because I got a smoking deal on it. No, it'll probably never be worth anything to a Mustang die hard, but you'd be surprised how many people pass on over every run of the mill Fox and SN95 at car shows just to check out my Cougar.

Now that I've been out of the Mustang scene for a while, I'm looking at getting back into one but that's not to say my car has been anything but impressive. It's put plenty of Mustangs on the trailer at the track and has been a hell of a lot more comfortable on the ride too and from, in the process. Not to mention it was nice having "useful" trunk space for a change.

And for what it's worth, I wasn't directing my previous comment at you, so don't get all bent out of shape. But the fact remains that the Fox bodies and SN's will never be considered the collector that the Classics were. There have been far too many built and to be honest....Fox bodies were never really considered that great of a car to begin with. Sure, the Mustang faithful of that era loved them, but to everyone else they were considered a "band-aid" for Ford during the 2nd lowest point of the automotive industry we all like to refer to as "the 80's"

Another point to consider is that not many of the sought after classics are around any longer, which really brings up their value. And there weren't that many of the "true specialty cars" built to begin with. Sure, Ford built a gazillion Mustangs in general throughout the mid-60's and they're holding their value fairly well, but keep in mid these were the "originators". The first of the line and their run was fairly short. Fox bodies were around for almost 25-years and SN95 for 10. Hardly a short, or limited production that would make them a "rarity".

Like I said before.....some of these cars will "hold" their value a little better than others of the era, but they'll never bring in 10 and 20-times their original worth like an original 64 1/2, Shelby, or a Boss would now a days. It just isn’t gonna happen!
