How cold is too cold?

This is my first engine with alumn heads (AFR'S).My question is,it's been dry here just cold and i wanna drive the stang. At night it's been and going to be for the next 5 days in the teens to mid 20's,and the days are to be high 20's to mid 30's.So with these temps is it ok for the heads to heat up but then cool off to those temps?I have head studs and new coolant as well as fel pro head gaskets. I dont see it being a problem or wouldnt think it would be since they arent heating up instantly and then cooling down to those temps instantly,but just checking? peace

this is just my opinion but i would say, as long as you give it time to warm up slowly and cool down before shut off then you should be fine.

just as long as you dont go beat on it and then shut it right off you should be good to go.

No i would let it and do let all my cars warm up before i drive them.And my street is a 25 MPH street so no i wouldn't be jamin like a mad man right before i shut it down.I very rarely beat on my cars,but i do occasionally after all who dont? peace

everyone does at some point, you should be good to go with proper warm up and cool down time

Car engine are tough. Lot of cars nowday come stock from the factory with Alumn heads etc. 20'F is really not that cold. Just drive slowly until the oil warm up ( Collant heat up faster then motor oil ).
I have Alumn heads on all the Mustang I ever owned since 93 and they held up fine.
I do open the hood every chance I get after driving to let the under hood heat out faster. Summer or Winter.
