Bought a Hurst knob for my Hurst shifter that my stock knob threads on to and the new knob doesn't fit. Same thing happened in my 89. What is the deal here? I tapped out the threads on the last one, but sheeze, this should work. :notnice:

Somehow before i even opened this post, i knew you had a hurst shifter.
You can probably change the shaft on it, and get something that takes factory threads.
Back in the day i couldn't get anything good for my hurst, and i kept ripping the ball off the threads of the knob meant for it.
Somewhere along the line, i got another shaft (don't remember what from), i had to widen one of the sides with a drill, and i bolted it on.
