How desireable do you think 94-95 GT/Cobra's will be in the future?

I've been thinking a lot about this. I think they will be very desireable, due to the fact that they were the newer style body with the old five liter. Since this combo was limited to only two years (albeit two high production years), I figure they will be the ones mustang collectors will be after in the future. Any thoughts??

I sure hope you're right!! It sure makes my 95 GT convertible( Rio Red with white leather interior and loaded with options) with an original 4,965 miles on it (and completely stock down to the battery) look pretty good!!!! Mark

I bet ones like Mark01L will be pretty valuable. Only problem is the 96-98 almost look just like us. Maybe one day the 94-95 wll be valuable and the 96-98 will want to put our taillights on to try to pass as 5.0. Not the other way around.

I have always looked at the world in a very screwed up fashion, so I'll give my opinion once again.

Why do people prefer 68-71 Corvettes but not the 72 or 73; they are all the same body style? Because the horsepower ratings are lower. We have the worst EEC (for modification) in EFI Mustang history. Our cars just have a bad reputation for being slow, and one off's because of the hodge podge motor assembly. I plan on keeping mine forever, but I don't see it becoming a hot collector item. Plus, when it starts becoming more valuable, the less and less I would want to drive it - even though I only drive it 50 miles a month to begin with.

i think that the cobras will be a lot hotter than the GTs IMO, but the 95 Cobra R will top both.

hopefully it will turn out like the chvy bellaire where so many were made and torn down liek they are now that he ones left are really expensive

im gonna be mega pissed if this car i have is gonna be worth 60k in the future bc when im done with it and have my 2030 SVT Cobra Extreme with 1000 hp, ill regret getting rid of it.

That's a good question. Maybe one day but I think what makes cars go up in value is the rarity of its parts or the limited number produced. The 94-95 Cobras weren't very exotic and I'm finding that they are not that rare either. I was reading Automobile magazine about a month ago and in the back they have the Barret-Jackson auction results. A 95 Cobra Pace car with 8 miles on it had just sold for $21k. The MSRP sticker was still in the window and it was $23k new. The writer saw it as a poor investment because the owner lost $2k on the flip and never got to enjoy driving it.

that has alot to do with production numbers though...for 93 there were 117, 95 were 250, and 300 produced for 00r

It all depends on how many 94/95's are around in 10-20 years. How many of these cars will be stock or even resemble what came out of the factory? Who knows.

I can't remember what the name of the license plate is, but do you think our cars will eventually not be required to pass emissions? I think it's an antique plate or something? Those cars don't have to pass emissions. My brother-in-law has a '69 Vette with one of those tags and he isn't required to take an emissions test. I think there is a mileage restriction or "daily use" restriction in that it can't be your primary vehicle. Anyways, that's what I hope for. Usually, certain vehicles get this status after 20 years of age. Maybe there were too many 94/95 stangs built for this to happen?

After a certain amount of years, no car has to pass emmisions. 20 years old or somthing i think...atleast in CT. I don't think it has to do with the plate.

There were tons of foxes and there value is going up, not necessarilly as a collector, but I think this gives hope t0 other generations of Mustangs. You guys will just have to wait your turn!

i've noticed that as well. it's also getting harder to find a clean fox, especially notchbacks. i have a feeling the 87-93 notch will be a very sought after car before too long.
