How did you get your gauge wiring through the firewall?

Greetings,
I am about to route my mechanical oil pressure and water temperature gauges on my '69 and am trying to find a place to pass the water temp sending unit and the small oil pressure tube through on the firewall so that I don't have to drill a hole.

Can anyone tell me how they did theirs and suggest a hole to use to avoid cutting a new one?

Thanks!!!

go ahead

Go ahead and drill the hole, find a rubber gromet at the parts store and drill the correct size for it. I'd suggest a larger hole, because you will run other stuff through there later (trust me). Just be sure to find a safe spot.

Agree. I drilled a hole and used a grommet. Couldn't find any factory holes that were in the right location for a neat installation.

Agreed x3

And that's good advice about putting in a larger grommet than needed, as you WILL need it eventually.
