Drivetrain How do I remove the T handle from my shifter?

'93 5.0/AOD. I want to remove the plastic shifter indicator box from the shifter mechanism. I see no way to do this without removing the T handle from the shifter, and I see no way to remove the T handle. I'm sure it's a simple procedure but I don't see it! Anyone done this before?
