I just purhcased a Diablo Predator handheld tuner and I was planning on installing the Diablo Tune tonight to account for my 4.10's, larger tires and to turn off the check engine light due to my off-road Xpipe....anyway, as I was going through the prompts to install the tune....the predator let me know that I could not because the car already has a tune I bought the car back in Feb. used and had no idea a tune was on her already! How do I go back to the factory tune so I can use my Diablo Predator??? Do I have to take it to a Ford dealer to have them re-flash the ECU??? How much will something like that run me???

Thanks in advance!!!

Will it not let you restore it back to the factory tune using the Predator first, then save the custom one after that?

If the Predator is not "married" or locked to a car, then it should just take whatever tune is in your car now and back that up as the factory tune.

Where did you get your Predator? Go thru the menus and get to the one that says "Show last tune installed" or something like that. What does it show?

The predator is brand new from PartShoper here at Stangnet...it isn't locked to any car, mine was to be the first. Could the previous owner have had a tuner that he never returned to a factory tuning before he sold it???

If that is indeed the case....how do I go about getting the factory tune back installed???

check your ecu in the passenger kick panel. you might have a chip in there already. if so try yanking it out and giving the pred another go.

What car is this? The Roush or the Mach?

If it is the Roush it came with a tune from Roush.

Good point. If it's the Roush that's not accepting the tune you could still keep the Predator to use on the Mach.
