How do the '99 GTs stack up?

How do they rate? Against the other years (00 and up). Any quirks or major TSBs or recalls or anything like that?

(this appears to be misleading some so let me be clear. i would like info on how the 4.6, exhaust, and suspension in the 99s compare to the 00 and up as well as any major tsb's and recalls. would also appreciate info on how they compare to the 98 and down.)

off topic: i see you are paying 190 for mac springs..i got my H&R supersports for 189.99...i would suggest you get the sports(so you dont have to change and add so many things like i did such as caster/camber plates and new shocks/struts).i believe you would be happier with those

The only thing that really stands out to me, besides asthetics, is the fact that 99 GT's came with 6 cats as a pose to 00-04 which only came with 4. Other than that, there's a bunch of small nit picking stuff that isn't really all that significant. ie: MAF size changes, injector sizes, etc.

Not significant, meaning they didn't really impact the power or performance of the car. I think there were some changes for emissions.

As for 96-98, major changes are pretty straight forward, with the introduction of the PI heads/intake and 3.27 stock gear ratio's as a pose to the 2.73's that came in a lot of cars, I think. It's been a while since I looked into that. I know some of them did come with 2.73's. The T-45 was still in use til... 00? I think. Once again, the differences internally are subtle.
