How do you fund your projects? especially if married?

HAHA! when I got married I had my old '79 fox drag car tucked away in the garage at mom's and somehow the wife didn't know I had it until we'd been married 6 months!

Wife: You didn't tell me you owned a Mustang!

Me: uhhhh, you didn't ask.

Wife: well, what are you going to do with it?

Me: Well, i've been thinking about selling it.

Wife: Good! what are WE going to use the money on?

Me: WE are going to buy another Mustang!

I am a very lucky man in that my wife shares my passion for Mustangs. We get each other parts for birthdays, anniversaries and christmas presents. She rarely every grouses about what I want to spend on one of my cars. She even bought me one for christmas a few years back. She is The Best Wife Ever.

well my wife has a $420 a month car payment which should be leverage enough for me who doesnt have a car payment to get $400 a month towards my car but that doesnt work that way.

I've been married for a little while before I got my car so I cant really use that excuse.

We have separate accounts, she buys what she likes, I buy my stuff. I take care of the big bills and she handles the smaller ones. She knows better then to ask when I buy something, but she also knows I will step up and take care of emergencies when they happen. So it really isn't an issue.
