How does flowmaster sound with X-pipe ??????

Hey guy's i would like to know how the flowmaster's would sound with X pipe ???
Right now i'm running BBK shorty's and mac H pipe with cat's and flow's and i gor rid of my emision stuff and i'm looking to het something cat less and i was thinking X pipe ???

The sound is a little less of a rumble, more exotic sounding. X's are supposed give more hp and tq throughout the powerband

thanks but some people say you should not use X on chamberd muffler
that's y i'm asking if it's not going to sound funny

I heard that too, but I know a few ppl that have the x with flows and it sounds good

first of all, are you selling the catted mac h pipe? my o/r h is a bit loud and i might want a high flow pipe in its place, at least to pass emmissions in a year, PM me......please next of all that is a false thing to say...my friend with o/r x and mac cat back sounds bad, but my friend w/ bassani full system with long tubes, and cats sound sgreat!, and my other friend with a 90 lx as well has o/r x w/ flowmaster and x pipe.....(the thing sounds tits)

I have a FlowTech O/R X with Flows, and dumps. I believe they are three chamber because their not extremely loud. It has that popping sound when you let off at high RPM's and it does sound exotic turning 5,000RPM under an overpass. I liked it a lot at first, but it doesn't really have that mean sound to it. I'm getting ready to go longtubes with a shorty X, and straight through mufflers with tailpipes.

I had long tubes, x pipe and Flow's for awhile. The x-pipe alone made the car quieter and drastically took away the drone it had with the H-pipe. I have a sound clip on a thread here somewhere.

I enjoy my flowmaster with x pipe combo. I had a high flow H w/cats and that wasn't doing it for me. The high flow H was alright but DRONED like crazy from 1800 - 2400. My X and flows drones from 1900 - 2300 or so BUT it sounds nastier and isn't as bad. It definately made even my stock cam with a 115 LSA sound better at idle.

I think the best part of the pipe is the 3500+ RPM sound. It sounds so much better then the H. All exhaust will scream if you rev it high but the H had this deeper almost "hollow" sound while the X is just high pitched and oh so much louder.

If you're worried about drone, go with a single chambered muffler. Any multi-chambered muffler will produce drone, its the natured of a multichambered design. BUT, a single chambered muffler will cause a net loss of torque do to the lack of back pressure.

My long winded point is thumbs up for X and flows!

I had long tubes, and a dr gas with 3 chamber flo's for a short while and wasn't crazy about the sound. I ended up going with a straight through muffler(straightline performance) and love them.

I have FRPP shorty headers, Bassani X with cats & 2 chamber Flows. The sound is not as deep as the H pipe & not as raspy as straight through mufflers with a X pipe. It also seems a little quiter than a H, could be just not as a deep tone? I like the sound. I don't think using chambered mufflers with a X pipe is loosing much HP, probly less than 5 hp.

I ran 2 chamber flowmasters with my bassani offroad X pipe and I HATED the sound. My ears would ring everytime I drove the car. Its was a real high pitched sound. I say stay away from this combo of X and chambered mufflers.

I agree. Everyone likes something a little different but my car with LT's, off-road X and 3-chambers sounded great IMO and had absolutely zero drone at any rpm. I couldn't even hear the exhaust in the car cruising on the highway (with no rear seat or anything in the trunk too!) but when you put you're foot in it you knew there was something there because it really opened up.

I have a Mac o/r X and flows, and I think it sounds good. It still drones, but it's not too bad, and I personally kinda like it. It may sound bad once I drop my new engine in (whenever I get around to it), but stock, it sounds great to me.

My set up is a set of bassani equal lenth's with a bassani O/R X going into a set of flow american thunder muffs with 3" tail's! sounds bad assssssssssssssss peace

Edit: There's an article in the current issue of MM&FF just on what you seek. The article even provides some suggested muffler and x/h pipe combinations.
