How does this shifter work

I saw this sort of shifer on supra that i saw on ebay. How does this sort of shifter work. Is it automatic or manual. If it is automatic i would understand but if it manual how would it work.????

very much an auto shifter, only up and down.... come to think of it, that would be hella cool. a sequential shifter.. like the euro m3's. just up and down

Oh bleep, I should have told everyone on here ages ago.

There is an aussie invention, it is a shifter for a toploader that makes it sequential. I'll see if I can find a website.

Those are neat, my cousin and her husband had a similar one on their big block Nova

That's a ratchet shifter for an automatic. I have the B&M Hammer shifter that is very similiar. You push the shifter handle forward to advance from 1st to 2nd and the shifter handle springs back to the same position. Then you push it forward again to shift from 2nd to 3rd, etc. It's great for drag racing because you can't accidently shift from 1st to 3rd.

Hey Route666... I have a question about that shifter from Renagate... How exactly do you shift your car in reverse?!?
