how fast are evo's and sti's? modded or not? everyone at my school used to jizz their pants over these cars.. what will one of these with 400 awhp run? are they legit 11 sec cars with a stock turbo or upgraded turbo?

They're pretty quick. They're nothing to worry about when stock. I hung neck-and-neck with a stock STi when I only had a CAI and flows from 40ish-100ish.

Its the modded ones you have to worry about.

They're not bad from factory quicker than a stock 2v gt, Slower than an ls1 t/a or camaro for either car. Most i've seen around mid 13's in stock form. Watchin them run time to time you could almost safely say 40-50 percent of the drives don't know how to properly launch them either. The new evo9 is slower than the evo8 as well from magazine.

I have a buddy with a stock turbo, stock motor (no cams, internals, etc.) EVO running high 11's. Very impressive car.

My brother has an STi with intake, tune (boost is upped a few lbs), and catback and it would show me the tails easy on motor... on nitrous it'd probably be dead even, but it's very impressive for the three things he has done to it and the lack of major boost it's running.

The thing about either one of them is that they'll kill a GT from a launch unless the GT has a good suspension/tire setup. Nothing like being able to launch from the limiter and go. Best bet would be from a roll race in my opinion.

I do like subaru's. They are great cars from what I have seen and ridden in a few as well.

The only thing my GT could have on my brothers STi is straight line performance on the bottle only.

Aside from that, his car would leave me behind in the corners and on the brakes. No comparison... it's like being on rails in that car even with stock suspension.

It'd take a lot to catch up.

Ya as far as the difference between the two is I think the subaru's handle a little better because of the boxer engine sitting flat n low in the chassis. And if anyone has ever been offroad in one they know its fun as hell with the awd.

I don't mind some imports cause some people know how to build them. I just hate ricers who put body kits and fart cans on em and then wanna race everyone they see on the street and think they gotta beat u to the next light an 1/8 of a mile down the road.

My buddy has a 2009 Evo and ran a best of 13.75 @ 100mph w/ 1.98 60’. His car is completely stock down to the filter. I think he could hit 13.5’s if he grew some nuts and launched it hard.

Below is a video of the run @ 3:15 mark.

I havent seen too many evo's and sti's running deep in the 11s. Most are low 13s or mid 12s. They may need a driver mod:shrug:

I've seen bolt on/tuned ones with a good driver go well into the 12s, and ones with aftermarket turbos go into the 11s. With a good driver, they will put the smack down on most Mustangs.
+1. They put down roughly 270/310 rwhp/rwtq from the factory (new sti, dynojet type dyno- older sti's and evos put down 260/290ish). For ~ $1.5k in mods (downpipe, exhaust, tune/boost controller) they are in the 12's. With the base garrett gt35R turbo kit (STI) they can go 400 awhp+ (11 second quarter w/ decent driver), similar story for the evo. With forged internals they can go higher, etc. The moral of the story is it is a hp/weight equation. We weight roughly the same, it comes down to wheel hp.

*while we are stating disclaimers: has looked at sti's and evo's as a project racecar :hide: (but they are too expensive so i'm sticking with my DD mustang :p )

an evo 9 has a much better turbo, and on boost controller and exhaust alone, will put down 400+
