how fast do you think this will run in the 1/4?

my buddy has a 03 gt 5-speed with BBk long tubes, x-pipe with cats and a SLP cat-back the car also has a JLT cold air intake and the BBk throttle-body and Grannittile coil on plugs a predator tunner and 3:73 gears with NT05 275-35-17 rear tires.
hes a fairly good driver but has never had the car faster than the 14's at the track , my 98 cobra runs 13.4 ?? shouldn't his car run close to mine ?

every gt I pass and bark the pipe's at turn's green with envy everytime / a cobra always turn's heads at the race track > I'd say if you want it buy it and you at least fulfill the desire to own one even if you change your mind later and sell it for a lesser 2v car

My car might need a parachute now. I'm not quite ready to race, but will be by October.

If you want to race Will, you better be on your A-game. I've watched his videos and he is most likely going to tree the crap out of you. You better be running 120+ to run him down.

blower/spray/gears/meth/drag radials.

Edit. Key is getting out of the hole with a 1.8 or better 60ft. Once you do that, times will fall quite a bit. 3.73's are not the best drag racing gear for the 5 speed cars that trap 98-103mph. It requires a 3-4 shift right before the end of the 1/4. 4.10's are a little better and put you higher in the rpm's when you go through the traps.

Your friend needs to learn how to drive. You say that he's a "fairly good driver"......but obviously not.

I run high 13's with my mods (not much different than his)..........and live at an 8000ft density altitude elevation WITH an auto.

What a tool bag. I would be 0% scared of that slowbra with me on motor and you on motor. Same goes with me on spray and you on spray.

My 2v went 7.44 in the 1/8th on a 100 shot.....What did your all mighty 4v run on a 100 shot? I'm willing to bet that you are still in the 8's.

To answer your question, your friend needs to learn how to drive. We dont have any 1/4 mile tracks around here, it's all 1000ft tracks. The last time I went out on motor, your friend had more mod's than me, and I ran 10.76 in the 1000ft, and 8.34 in the 1/8th mile. I know both of those times are a lot faster than low 14's.

Your car moves really good. I still have 2v friends(not on the forum) and like to keep timeslips for reference to help them. No new videos on the new setup with the big motor and big blower, because it still has a ways to go.

BTW, Im about 550 miles from SA.

I hope you can make it out for the Texas Mile in October. Lots of Mustang/Vette/Viper guys. That's a long drive, but if you can make it, we would enjoy the company. It's a good time for all the guys to get together, and we have 4-6 Texas guys(mustang) that usually come with us, on top of the guys with hang out and chat/pound drinks with. The "Squeaky Wheel" will have stickers on the "thanks" section on my car.
